China Camp 2007 - International Martial Arts Campus 2007 December 1-15
Written by Roberto Benetti

On November 30th more than 160 people coming from 10 countries, among which Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Russia, United Kingdom, Australia and Japan met for this second International Campus, following up to the 2004 meeting.

The first important event was organized in Shanghai, where on December 1st took place a demonstration of prestigious internal martial arts masters of Shanghai, Beijing and other areas in China, followed by the performance of some western masters, who had the chance to show their skills, thus representing the country or the group they were coming from. On the whole more than 50 masters could meet and exchange information on their styles.
In the afternoon a visit to the ancient town of Zhujiajiao was organized.
The following day we left for the final location of the campus and on the way we visited the city of Hangzhou, one of the most renowned tourist resorts in whole China, famous for its lakes and parks.
At night we reached the Sanqing mountains, in the JiangXi province, a wonderful mountain area, where you can still breathe the atmosphere of the authentic Chinese country life.

There was no time to neither rest or get bored!

During the campus each master could count on the help of a high level assistant and on the presence of a translator from Chinese to English.

After 4 days of practise, a one-day trip to the Sanqing Shan, the Sanqing Mountains, was organized with visit to remarkable Taoist temples.
On December 14th we returned to Shanghai and this was the end of this unforgettable adventure.

This campus has just come to an end and the organization of the 2010 event has already begun, which will be located in the Beijing area…and so the practice goes on.
We would like to thank Master George Xu, who managed to arrange such an engaging event, by inviting top level masters, by coordinating the presence of practitioners coming from 10 countries and by untiringly checking that everything would run smoothly.
We also thank all the masters and the participants, who with their engagement and dedication contributed to the success of an important event for both the development of the Art and the spirit of exchange and friendship among the people and the different cultures among them.
